Vendor Information

The City of South Bend Venues Parks & Arts presents a new event coming this winter! The Howard Holiday Market will be held outdoors at Howard Park during the first 3 weeks of December on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays: 3rd–5th | 10th–12th | 17th–19th. The event is free and open to the public.

  • All are welcome to apply. Applications must be turned in by November 11, 2020.
  • Due to limited available booth space and overwhelming interest, we anticipate that there may be a waiting list.
  • Winter, holiday-themed, and handmade wares are preferred but not required for consideration.
  • All food vendors are welcome to apply but we are especially looking for food vendors that can customize their menu to pair with the holiday aesthetic. Keep in mind that all edible products cannot be made in a home based kitchen per St. Joseph County health department guidelines.
  • If your application is accepted, you will be contacted by South Bend Venues Parks & Arts via email no later than November 12, 2020.

  • Booth spaces are $100 for each “week” of the Market (Thursday-Saturday).
  • Accepted applicants must pay their booth fee no later than November 20, 2020 to reserve their place.
  • Vendors may not purchase multiple booth spaces for the purpose of combining them to make a larger booth space.
  • Booth spaces are 10’ x 10’ and located just off a concrete sidewalk, in the grass. Each booth space will be covered by a white tent and include 3 fabric sidewalls, as well as a decorative, wooden faҫade attached to the front entrance with a 6′ W x 7′ H opening. Each tent will also be provided with 1 overhead light inside the tent. The tent, the light, and the faҫade shall not be altered or damaged by the vendor.
  • Vendors will each receive access to one (1) outlet with 30amps. Vendors must provide their own outdoor extension cord. Please do not plan to utilize more than 1 heater or any open flame. Heater may not be left unattended at any time. If any electrical use is deemed unsafe by our Facilities & Grounds staff upon inspection, vendors may be asked to immediately remove items from the power source for their own safety and that of our guests.
  • Wifi is available to the public for free at Howard Park.

  • All vendors are responsible for filing sales tax records to the state of Indiana.
  • Vendors must be approved for all food or beverage sales in advance.
  • Vendors may determine to participate in 1, 2 or all 3 “weeks” of market operation, but must commit to being present and operational Thursday–Saturday in a market “week”. Be advised, no show vendors could be issued a $500 fee.
  • The method and mechanism for displaying merchandise intended for sale will be the responsibility of the vendor.
  • Set up time begins at 1:00pm on Thursday/Friday, and 7:00am on Saturday. Vehicles are strictly prohibited from driving on the grass. Vehicles may access the market area via designated concrete paths in the park in shifts but will not be able to be driven directly up to the booth spaces. Vendors will need to be prepared to unload and cart/carry their items to their booth space in a timely manner.
  • Vendors should be set up and ready to go by 4:00pm on Thursday/Friday, and 9:00am on Saturday. Vehicles must be moved to the vendor parking area, merchandise unloaded and displayed, and payment operations up and running.
  • Vendor booths must be fully operational at all times while the market is open until closing time every night: 8:00pm on Thursday/Saturday, and 10:00pm on Friday. Please be prepared with enough staffing to allow for staggered meals and breaks.
  • Booth displays will need to be completely torn down at the end of each day. If you chose to leave any items overnight, South Bend Venues Parks & Arts and the security hired will not be liable for any stolen or damaged items.  Tear down must conclude by 9:30pm Thursday/Saturday and 11:00pm Friday.  At the end of the week, all booth spaces must be left how they were found when you arrived on Thursday.
  • Security will be provided an hour before opening, during the event, and during tear-down.
  • South Bend Venues Parks & Arts will own and manage all Facebook events associated with the Market to provide the most up-to-date information to the public. We ask that vendors refrain from creating personal social media events to avoid confusion. We will provide a vendor graphic and link to our website for vendors to share on social media to inform your followers that you will be present at our market.
  • Tobacco use is prohibited on the grounds of Howard Park.
